New York, NY – (August 4, 2006) – Horizon Wimba announced today the immediate availability of Course Genie 2.1 which most notably allows users to export their Microsoft Word® documents into HTML that can easily be uploaded into their online Moodle courses. This version also allows for the internationalization of content and features a new assessment export for Blackboard Learning System CE 6.0+ (formerly WebCT Campus Edition 6.0+) and Vista.
To accommodate the increasing global popularity of Moodle, Course Genie users can now take their existing Word documents and export them into a SCORM-compliant format which not only allows their documents to be added to their Moodle courses, but even allows Course Genie to report directly to Moodle’s grade book and tracking tools. This means that Moodle users can create quizzes and other interactive exercises within their courses that can be scored automatically by Moodle.
Additionally, it is now possible for users worldwide to create localized versions of Course Genie for any language whose text direction is left-to-right. When Course Genie loads it will automatically detect the language being used on an instructor’s machine and then use the corresponding Course Genie language pack.
Course Genie version 2.1 comes only months after the release of Course Genie version 2.0 which allowed users to create several new methods of interactivity such as creating Flashcards and adding HTML, Javascript, and other code – which several schools have already used to add Wimba Voice Boards directly into their Course Genie material.
